Additional featuresA new Ski-Doo Expedition with more features is also in store for 2010. Called Expedition SE, it gets a plethora of accessories for work and off-trail exploration, like a heavy-duty winch (680-kg capacity), skid plates, a heated GPS holder, a 12-volt power outlet, a high-capacity battery, heated grips for the rider and passenger, a temperature gauge and a hitch. The Expedition SE comes with a choice of two engines: the 2-stroke 600 H.O. SDI, which is particularly explosive at higher revs, and the 4-stroke, 1,200-cc 4-TEC, a torque monster that remains easier to exploit. Both prove reasonably fuel-efficient following a revision of the combustion chambers and upgrades to the ignition system. The 600 H.O. SDI also uses semi-direct injection. | A new Ski-Doo Expedition with more features is also in store for 2010. | Bottom lineSki-Doo has improved its snowmobile lineup for 2010 by adding new models built on the REV-X chassis. Overall, the machines are more comprehensively equipped, more user-friendly and, on top of that, more affordable. Now that makes a lot of sense with the current economic crisis.
