2010 Porsche Panamera First Impressions

On the street, the ride is better than decent in “normal” mode. The suspension is best left in this guise in 90% of situations, the Sport being ideal for the highway and Sport+ for the track (and it works!). That is, if where you live, the roads are smooth and even. Do realize that this is a Porsche and if it's an S-Class cozy ride you are looking for, go straight to your local Mercedes dealer. If you like to drive, Stuttgart has the car for you. Moving along and as expected, the brakes are phenomenal, scrubbing off massive speed in no time flat while the steering, more focused than a 911 C2's, falls a little short of the Cayman's, i.e.; it's very impressive and direct.

If one thing is very clear to me, the Panamera will be another huge hit for Porsche.

Answer: stroke of genius
Porsche has had, from the onset, quiet confidence in its latest creation. It knew that many would scoff at the styling, at the four doors, at this and that but, it also knew that when the complainers actually tried the car, all would be forgotten and/or forgiven. And they were right. After a day at Road America, I'd say that it almost looks sexy... I might need to get my head checked.

If one thing is very clear to me, the Panamera will be another huge hit for Porsche regardless of what the detractors say. It's as though we always wanted a 4-door Porsche but couldn't have one so we wanted it more... It's here and it's far from queer. It's a Porsche after all.
