Peugeot is introducing an increasingly wide selection of scooters on the Canadian market -- quality machines offering attractive equipment. As the best-selling Peugeot model in Europe, the
New Vivacity lands on our shores with a new look, improved range and a surprising number of standard features for a 50-cc scooter.
The modern, geometrically-styled 2009 Peugeot New Vivacity is less basic than its predecessor. The stylish headlight sits high on the handlebar, flanked by a pair of hand guards and a front fairing that is every bit as functional as it is attractive, and that includes a nifty 13-liter storage compartment big enough to hold a half helmet or a hand bag.
Small but...Peugeot did a good job of maximizing cargo room within the overall size limits of this segment. Moving the fuel tank closer to the floor allowed engineers to increase underseat storage capacity to 22 liters, enough to accommodate a full-face helmet AND a hand bag. Furthermore, seat height and the overall center of gravity are lower as a result, making this two-wheeler even more accessible and pleasant to ride around town -- no wonder it's called "Vivacity".
But that's not all. The riding experience is enhanced by other handy features, some of which are usually absent on 50-cc scooters. These include a side stand in addition to the center stand, a special hook for your bag or purse on the front fairing, a 12-volt power outlet, two rearview mirrors and a full, GT-type digital instrument panel.
Booming marketScooters are enjoying rapid growth in Canada right now. They're particularly popular among consumers looking for 50-cc models like the New Vivacity. Some appreciate their easy riding dynamics while others rave about their high fuel economy and low prices. With a 35-liter total cargo capacity, the Peugeot New Vivacity stands out from smaller rivals by boosting everyday practicality.
The French manufacturer worked hard to create a new, highly-functional and notably well-equipped scooter in the 50-cc class. With go-anywhere styling and obvious quality, the 2009 New Vivacity is likely to win over both adults and teenagers age 14 and above. We're just waiting for the MSRP!
