The Harley-Davidson Touring models have been enjoying a boom in popularity in the last few years on this side of the Atlantic, with Europe slowly catching on to the user-friendliness of those models as well. Market analysis by H-D over the past five years showed that a surprising majority of Touring riders really used the carrying capacity of the machines close to and sometimes over the maximum weight, and decided to do something about it. The 2009 Touring models is the result of that work: an all new much more solid frame, larger brakes (Using Brembo calipers) and tires, four-point anchoring of the drive train (Rather than the baffling three anchoring points on the previous Touring generation), and serious springs and dampening development - everything it needed to turn the machines into (much) better-handling bikes while maintaining the incredible brand image of the family. the new machines are on dealer floors today, where the MSRP starts at $20,589 for a basic Road King and runs to $26,829 for a full monte Ultra Classic Electra Glide.
