In October, France will get the privilege of hosting the launch of the new
Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback, a 5-door model based on the recently introduced sedan. This car will offer a selection of three engines: a 109-hp 1.5L, a 143-hp 1.8L and a 140-hp 2.0L turbodiesel.
The European Lancer will also become available in
Ralliart trim, both with the sedan and wagon. It will be powered by a 2.0L four-banger producing 240 horsepower and 253 pounds-feet of torque through a twin-clutch transmission with active center differential, the latter distributing power to all four wheels. Improving braking performance will be new dual-piston calipers with larger master cylinder.
For now,
Mitsubishi has yet to announce the Sportback and Ralliart models for the Canadian market, but according to Tomoki Yanagawa, Vice-President sales, marketing and corporate planning for Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada, the Sportback should be in Canada next spring.
