Zero Motorcycles is the world-leader of the
electric motorcycle industry. The American manufacturer has just announced the launch of the
Zero X, already marketed as a 2009 model.
Faster, more powerful and more reliable, the Zero X can handle all types of roads, from sedate highways to serious backwoods trails.
Improvements were made to the Zero X's drive train, frame, suspension, braking system and tires. The electric engine is powered by a lithium-ion battery and produces 23 hp and 50 ft-lb of torque, twice as much as the competition. The frame is made of aluminum and weighs in at a little over 68 kilos, so the bike is lighter and offers up decent performance.
The Zero X's main advantage is that it's utterly quiet save for the squeal of its tires and that it emits no greenhouse gasses. Your neighbours will thank you for driving a bike like this.
