The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has launched an investigation into two Can-Am Spyder fires that occurred last month — one on July 20th and another on July 26th.
Similar incidents involving the fuel cap, vent hose and even a brake line have previously been reported, leading to recalls by BRP. According to the NHTSA, there is no connection with the recent fires, however.
A preliminary enquiry was initiated and targets the following models:
- 2013 Spyder;
- 2008-12 Spyder GS and RS;
- 2008-14 Spyder RT;
- 2010 Spyder RTS;
- 2013 Spyder ST.
No one was injured in the two fires.
