BRP has issued two recalls on the Can-Am Spyder. The first one targets 2,431 units from 2008-2009. An incorrect fuel vapour canister vent hose may have been installed and could allow fuel vapours to escape in proximity to an ignition source. Dealers will first inspect, then replace and re-route the vent line if necessary.
The second recall involves the fuel cap, which may not seal properly on the fuel tank filler neck and could allow fuel vapours to escape. Again, in the presence of an ignition source, this could result in a fire. The 9,400 affected owners of 2008-2012 models will be sent an updated fuel cap.
