After six years battling it out in SBK, Mauro Sanchini has decided to ride in the World Supersport Championship next season.

The 35 year old from the Marche region of Italy has signed a contract with Team RG to ride the new Yamaha R6 prepared by Pierluigi Pasetti in the 600 class.

Sanchini will be the team's only representative in the Supersport championship. Team RG will also be entering the youngster Robert Gianfardoni in the European Superstock 600 championship, and another young talent, Ilario Lavino, in the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup.
