Ducati has partnered with Dainese to launch a new advanced safety technology making its Multistrada the world's first motorcycle that wirelessly integrates with airbag-equipped riding jackets in the event of a crash.
Sensors built into the bike’s electronics constantly monitor acceleration, braking, and other movements. If a collision or fall is detected, the system sends a wireless signal to the Dainese D-Air jacket to deploy the airbag in just 45 milliseconds.
The technology will go on sale in Europe in May. Availability in other global markets has yet to be announced.
