This riding experience proved to be sensational. Similar to when you're riding a traditional snowmobile, deep snow puts additional stress on the machine and especially the powertrain. Still, the 4-stroke engines we tested delivered a good performance. Gear shifts have to be quick so as to avoid losing momentum. And like a regular motorcycle, when the road is slippery, you shouldn't downshift too quickly; otherwise, the track might lock and the ski will stall. Furthermore, since the front brake is no longer there to help you, all the braking effort is delivered by the rear brake and the track, which offers exceptional grip in all conditions. | | Deep snow puts additional stress on the machine. |
Unique feelingOnce you've become familiar with the riding dynamics of the Explorer, leaning into corners becomes a real source of pleasure. Whether you're climbing a hill or surfing on a flat terrain, going full speed into corners proves an extreme riding feeling. The more you ride the machine, the more you like it. Admittedly, getting familiar with the Explorer is a must. That being said, it offers a unique riding experience... if only for the fact that you can ride all year long.
