For Arctic Cat enthusiasts who want a competent side-by-side vehicle that offers a good mix of sportiness and utility, the redesigned Prowler is the way to go as it bridges the wide gap between the aggressive Wildcat models and the Prowler HDX workhorse. It offers three different engines and thus comes in three trim levels including 550 XT, 700 XT EPS, and 1000 XT EPS. We'll focus on that last one for the purpose of this preview.

Discover the 2015 Arctic Cat Prowler 1000 XT EPS
A class-leading, 951cc, 4-stroke, twin-cylinder engine powers this big machine. It features a Pentroof combustion chamber with four valves per cylinder and electronic fuel injection -- a combination that ensures a more complete combustion, which directly translates to more power, more efficiency, and cleaner exhaust.
As far as the chassis is concerned, the 10” of independent suspension travel combine with 10” of ground clearance to help you tackle various terrains easily. No surprise with regard to tire selection: Maxxis Bighorns have a wide footprint, excellent shock absorption, and large shoulder lugs. They even wrap some pretty stylish 14” alloy wheels.
Variable-assist electronic power steering (EPS) activates automatically at the moment of ignition to reduce steering effort even at rock-crawling speeds. It's also tilt-adjustable for more comfort and confidence on the trails.
Upgraded and more rugged
When redesigning the Prowler XT for 2015, Arctic Cat used super-tough Surlyn by DuPont, a resilient resin-based material with a proven record borrowed from the brand's snowmobile technology. Surlyn requires no painting, and is scratch resistant. Dual halogen headlights with LED light bars complement the exterior, and right above them is an automotive-style hood that opens from the front, just like your pickup, so it's easier to gain access to the massive 85-litre trunk, not to mention the radiator and brake fluid reservoir. In the rear, the cargo box not only has a 600lb payload, but it also tilts to easily unload your stuff. Need to tow? You can go as heavy as 1,500lbs.
Inside, the 2015 Prowler 1000 XT EPS has a completely new dash with all kinds of features: a shift lever for better ergonomics, a cell phone cubby, a 7.2-litre glove box, two 12V outlets, and a sport digital gauge with all the essential indicators such as a tachometer, speedometer, trip mileage indicator, gear indicator, digital clock, and fuel gauge.
Available in black, red, or orange, the 2015 Arctic Cat Prowler 1000 XT EPS starts at $16,999.
