Kawasaki Canada is recalling a number of Ninja 300 sport bikes due to serious engine and ABS problems.
The first recall affects 1,850 Kawasaki Ninja 300, 300 ABS and 300 ABS SE motorcycles from 2013. The engine may stall while decelerating, resulting in a loss of propulsion and increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will therefore replace the engine control unit (ECU).
The second recall affects 745 Kawasaki Ninja 300 ABS and 300 ABS SE motorcycles from 2013. In some cases, the ABS hydraulic unit may have been contaminated with debris during manufacturing. This could cause the ABS system to function improperly and in an unexpected manner, which could increase the risk of a crash. Consequently, dealers will inspect the ABS unit and replace it if necessary.
