Launched at the EICMA show in Milan at the end of 2009, the all-new Multistrada 1200 focuses all the know-how of Ducati’s engineers on a single versatile bike that is as effective on the road as the old Multistrada, more convincingly so in fact, and that has distinctly more dirt riding potential; thereby creating a new, sophisticated blend of both types.
The new mix of models and abundant equipment of the latest Multistrada deserves an in-depth analysis:

The Soul of a Superbike
The Multi’s liquid-cooled L-Twin cylinder engine comes directly from the formidable Testastretta 1198, domesticated with less aggressive cam timings, a compression ratio down from 12.7 to 11.5:1 and revised injection and ignition mapping, all designed to increase torque at low and medium rpm and smooth out the power increase as rpm rise, en route to the 150 hp maximum.
