2008 Pontiac G6 GXP Sedan Review

7-8-2008

by Justin Pritchard , Auto123.com

Manual-mode shifts occur with reasonable urgency, and upshifts only knock a few revs from the tachometer- meaning the engine eagerly and repeatedly spins to redline as it dispenses with each gear. An exciting and potent howl is delivered in the process.

Inside, the G6 GXP features a simple and concise interior.

Steering is quick and sharp, though a little more weight and feel would help the G6 GXP feel better locked into corners at speed. Brakes are powerful, though far from communicative when drivers try to modulate them.

Ultimately, this isn't a machine that'll beg you to rip through corners at serious speeds- though the added visuals and punchy, great-sounding engine have made it one of the most aggressive and in-your-face rides on this side of affordability. Pricing for the G6 GXP starts at $35,975.
