At Yamaha, the all-new FX Cruiser Super High Output is quite simply the brand's most powerful watercraft ever. Its 1,812-cc, 4-stroke, 4-cylinder engine uses a supercharger with intercooler. Despite being one of the most potent engines in the entire industry, it runs on regular unleaded gasoline. The hull and deck are made of Nanoxcel, a revolutionary material that's 25-percent lighter than fiberglass. Yamaha also showcased its turbine-propelled premium boat lineup. A total of five models were on display, featuring two different powertrain packages, namely a 1,052-cc, 320-hp, high-performance dual engine and a more fuel-efficient, 220-hp dual engine.

Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 250X |
At the Kawasaki stand, we were able to get an inside scoop on the new Jet Ski Ultra 250X. As the name suggests, this machine is ultra-fast; in fact, it's one of the fastest on the market. Visitors could also marvel at the Jet Ski 800 SX-R, a one-of-a-kind jetski that can be ridden while standing up. The SX-R is the direct heir to the first-ever Jet Ski created by Kawasaki 35 years ago.
Finally, the biggest stars at BRP this year were the all-new RXP-X et RXT-X, two watercraft powered by a new 255-hp, supercharged Rotax engine. According to engineers at the Sea-Doo division, the RXP-X accelerates from 0 to 80 kph in 2.9 seconds. Impressive. These new models also receive a host of can't-miss features. For 2008, BRP offers a well-stocked portfolio of turbine-propelled boats. Whether you're planning a spirited ride on the lake or a comfortable cruise out on the open sea, Sea-Doo is offering the widest selection of turbine-propelled boats in the industry.
The Montreal Boat and Water Sports Show was all that and so much more. Count on us to be there next year!
