After Toronto and Quebec City, Montreal finally kicks off the 2012 riding season by allowing fans to get up close with all the new models under one giant roof. Starting today and wrapping up on Sunday, this year's edition of the Montreal Motorcycle Show at Palais des Congrès will bring together all the leading bike manufacturers. Also, expect to find tons of accessories and equipment, various riding clubs and schools, travel agencies as well as track day organizers.

Here are some of the models you don't want to miss:

Aprilia hits a homerun with the new RSV4R APRC. This dream machine benefits from the Aprilia Performance Ride Control system, which includes 8-level adjustable traction control along with wheelie control and launch control systems. Meanwhile, a quick shifter allows clutchless upshifts.

BMW puts all its expertise on display with the K1600GT, which recently won the ''International Bike of the Year 2011'' award at the Brussels Motor Show. Of course, the revised and improved S1000RR and F800R will try hard to steal the show.

Ducati has never launched that many new models in the same year. In addition to the Superbike 848 Corse and Streetfighter 848 with Ducati Traction Control (DTC), one of the most impressive new products from the Italian brand is unquestionably the 1199 Panigale: three riding modes (Race, Sport and Wet), Engine Brake Control, Ducati Data Analyzer+, Ducati Quick Shift, slipper clutch, advanced ABS brakes, and aluminum frame with single-sided swingarm.

Harley-Davidson further explores the retro theme with the new Softail Slim and Seventy-Two. The latter is available with an eye-catching metal flake finish that harkens back to the Sting Ray-style choppers of the '70s. The name, however, comes from the legendary Route 72, or Whittier Boulevard, a well-known cruising street in East Los Angeles.

Honda introduces the new NC700SA and NC700XA. Both are stylish yet clean-looking, sophisticated yet rider-friendly. They're great for weekday commutes and weekend getaways. Let's not forget the completely redesigned and largely improved CBR1000RR and Gold Wing.
