2014 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 ABS
The completely redesigned dual-purpose bike marks a radical departure from its predecessor and even the current, warmed-over V-Strom 650. It uses a brand new perimeter frame made of aluminum, a tubular rear section, upside-down front forks, a cast swingarm, and a braking system that features radial callipers and ABS. Suzuki had to respond to the growing threat of large-displacement, dual-purpose bikes such as the BMW R1200GS, Stelvio NXT and Caponord 1200 ABS. Mission accomplished. At $11,999, the 2014 V-Strom 1000 is also much more affordable than every competitor.
