The sexy Jackpot, the star of the Victory lineup, is a more contemporary interpretation of the classic chopper, a borderline cliché on two wheels. Fans will adore the long, wide, and heavily raked fork, drop-shaped fuel tank, clean handlebars, banana seat, stacked tailpipes, large and narrow front wheel, as well as the massive, 250mm rear tire.

Ergonomics on the 2014 Victory Jackpot could be better. Despite its low-slung body and even lower centre of gravity that delivers easy handling, you have to be at least 5’8” to reach the controls and footrests perfectly.

Just beware of its generous length and commanding rear tire before making a 90- or 180-degree turn; this bike requires more effort than average.

On the highway, the sheer lack of wind protection forces you to maintain a slower pace. That being said, the sound and steady 2014 Victory Jackpot provides an impeccably planted, locked-in feel that boosts confidence and safety.

Lovely engine
Of course, riding a Victory is about the joy you get from the acclaimed Freedom 106 engine (1731cc). This SOHC V-twin with four valves per cylinder has a long and fat torque curve, resulting in strong performance from 2,000 rpm all the way to the redline.

Unlike its American rival, the 2014 Victory Jackpot delivers relentless acceleration until the rev limiter kicks in, which is reason to believe engineers chose sporty settings on purpose. Easy to exploit and backed by a commendable 6-speed transmission, it will get you out of any situation regardless of the gear you select.

Styling prevails with the 2014 Victory Jackpot
Braking performance is decent at best, but that's to be expected from a large steed with a single front disc that leaves one side exposed for us to admire the beautiful wheel. During two-up riding, you must also rely on the rear brake to enjoy safe braking distances, especially since there's no ABS to back you up.

Of course, don't expect any miracles when you encounter rough pavement. However, for a slammed, chopper-style machine like the 2014 Victory Jackpot, comfort is adequate overall -- better than many direct competitors, actually. The seat is wide, nicely sculpted and padded for good support, while the front fork and rear shock do a fair job most of the time.

Fists in the wind, legs stretched, and buttocks deeply wedged into the seat, it's easy to relax and let everything sink in as the 2014 Victory Jackpot devours miles of road to the sound of its big V-twin. The atmosphere and thrills gradually build up when riding this machine that appears to come straight out of a custom shop. The Jackpot is great to look at, listen to, and ride.
