2012 Triumph Bonneville T100 Review

4-17-2012

by Pascal Bastien , moto123.com

Playful Brit
On a tight winding road, the 2012 Triumph Bonneville T100 turns into a standard sport bike with enough bite and poise to thrill. It can reach 170 km/h in a straight line without second-guessing, while its fundamentally sound frame lets you cruise through the countryside all day long.

There may be just a single brake disc up front, but the response is excellent. The whole braking system is sharp and progressive, allowing safe emergency stops.

The T100 puts you in a state of mind unlike any other Triumph. Its good overall performance and rider-friendliness make it a very attractive road companion. Daily commutes, downtown stints and weekend getaways are not only possible but also enjoyable. This is a versatile throwback with surprising comfort to boot.

Steve McQueen Edition
Triumph also launched another classic based on the Bonneville T100 and named after a Hollywood icon and avid motorcycle enthusiast. The Steve McQueen SE will get a limited production run of 1,100 units. It features a serialized plaque, solo rider's seat, Scrambler-derived headlight, Matte Khaki Green paint as well as blacked-out rims, handlebars, front forks and rear springs. The actor's signature appears on the side covers, and owners will receive a certificate of authenticity with their machine.
