Vibrations through the handlebar and footpegs are minimal, which is rare with this type of powerplant. And while the new exhaust with large-capacity catalyzer prevents the engine from singing its favorite song, it emphasizes the airliner style of this magnificent sportbike.

The clutch-transmission combo is exemplary, with gear ratios that are ideally matched to the rock-and-roll performance of the Hayabusa. In addition, I found it extremely precise and almost effort-free. This 6-speed unit is quite simply the best transmission ever produced by Suzuki.
Power equals safetyWhat's the point of a 197-hp bike that can easily sprint to 200 km/h in third gear when the maximum speed limit is set at 100 km/h (or 70 and 50 in some cases)? The answer is simple: a high-caliber motorcycle like this one is capable of offering superior stability, comfort and even above-average safety when ridden at legal speeds. You can feel it as soon as you take off. The GSX-R1300 Hayabusa is unbelievably stable at highway speeds. Nothing seems to affect its poise, not even violent crosswinds and incoming trailer trucks which pass right by you.
The ultra-rigid chassis and precise steering with electronically-controlled damping system make the Hayabusa very easy to tame and handle. It's almost as if it was riding on rails. Also, low-speed stability in the traffic and during parking maneuvers is surprising given the size of the machine.
Whereas the ZZR1400 is a high-performing tourer, the new Suzuki Hayabusa is a genuine high-caliber sportbike. Precise upon entering corners and easy to gauge at their apex, this steed is capable of bullet-like exits and, despite weighing nearly 50 kilos more than a superbike, it feels remarkably nimble.
