Geared like a champion The CBR1000RR is equipped with a 43-mm inverted aluminum-slider cartridge front fork featuring spring preload, rebound and compression damping adjustability -- not to mention 119 mm of travel. The swingarm is 11-mm longer, but the wheelbase remains the same. The MotoGP-derived Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD), borrowed from the RC211V, allows a more compliant and even more precise steering feel. Once again, Honda proves that a top sportbike can be equally fast and easy to ride. For 2008, the Japanese manufacturer cranks it up a notch by offering a machine that's very user-friendly on the road and electrifying on the track. With ultra-compact dimensions that are closer to a 600-cc motorcycle's and a remarkable assortment of cutting-edge technologies, the biggest CBR will undoubtedly leave a mark in the history of large-displacement, high-performance sportbikes.
