2007 Buell Lightning XB12Ss Road Test

9-19-2007

by Pascal Bastien , moto123.com

The suspensions were specifically calibrated for this particular XB. The components are the same, but the settings have been judiciously revised to deliver greater comfort while not compromising the sportiness of the bike. As a result, the XB12Ss is not only more user-friendly in general, but also faster when the road quality worsens. It's almost as if this mount had been specifically designed for Quebec roads.

As for braking, the XB12Ss is equipped with a very efficient system. Up front is the famous 375-mm floating disc with 6-piston calliper. A traditional 240-mm disc is mounted in the back and always up to the task.

The XB12Ss is equipped with a high-performance braking system.

A Buell that appeals more to the masses

Eccentric, exclusive and even exotic, the XB12Ss boasts many of the distinctive qualities that set Buell motorcycles apart from everything else. With the XB12Ss, you enjoy all the original personality of a Buell without its radical tendencies. The goal of Buell engineers was to create a uniquely styled machine with uncommon riding dynamics that would appeal to a large audience. Therefore, they took away a bit of Buell's exclusiveness to make the XB more accessible than ever.

Highlights of this bike include improved stability, enhanced comfort for both the rider and the passenger and, most importantly, a confidence-inspiring, exceptionally fun riding experience in all conditions.
