Some news about the injured Blair Morgan

1-11-2010

by René Fagnan , Auto123.com

Blair Morgan was severely injured when practicing for the Montreal Supercross more than a year and a half ago. Blair fell badly on his back when he missed his landing after a jump.

Fortunately, he was treated very well by the doctors and is still very enthusiastic, despite his paralysis. His wife Terri gave some news about her husband.

Six months after the accident, he started visiting his friends and neighbors. Blair also attended hockey games where he could meet his best childhood friend, Landon Wilson who plays for the Dallas Stars.

Blair has also made friends with Calgary Flames defence man Robyn Regehr as he also enjoys dirt bikes and snowmobiles, and is a fellow Saskatchewan raised local boy.

One trip also gave Blair the opportunity to visit with some of his Blackfoot teammates as well. This marked the first trip Blair was able to take just six months after his paralysis.

A few months later, it was up on Blair's favourite holiday, Halloween. “The event marked a year since his first day pass he got to go home from the hospital post injury. He has come a long way since that day,” Terri Blair wrote.

“He now has a truck equipped with hand controls and a Yamaha Rhino also equipped with hand controls to get around the yard and neighbourhood. But most of the frustration and troubles with getting around do not come because of Blair's inability to go places and do things, they come at the lack of proper wheelchair and disability access in our community and in many other communities.”

“Blair enjoys being home with the children and they love to have him home as well. Life is busy but has also slowed fast paced Blair down a little as well,” Terri wrote.
