LCR Honda team rider, Randy de Puniet was still on top at the end of the second day of testing of MotoGP at Sepang in Malaysia.

De Puniet's fastest time was set in the morning session and, despite experiencing some minor problems, he was able to complete a run of fast consistent laps throughout the day.


Colin Edwards, the Yamaha Tech 3 rider, look as though he is getting comfortable with his new machine as he set the second fastest time, leading former Fiat Yamaha teammate Valentino Rossi.

Spain's Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha), Rossi's new teammate was fourth fastest, merely edging MotoGP champion Casey Stoner.

Nicky Hayden had his hands full as he once again completed the greatest number of laps. Following the departure of injured Repsol Honda teammate Dani Pedrosa, the former world champion had to undergo an extensive program of testing.

Pedrosa was injured yesterday and, after being taken to a nearby hospital for X-ray checks, it was found that he had suffered a hairline fracture in his right hand - which was enough to force him out of testing for the rest of this week.

The Spaniard returned back to Spain to undergo further exams.
