It only took one weekend and sophomore Snocross racing sensation Ross Martin took the lead in both Pro classes of the WPSA PowerSports Snowmobile Tour. This weekend, the Pleasant Prairie, Wis. native will prepare to tighten his grasp on those top spots as the Tour visits the Eagle River Derby Track for the double national Eagle River Snocross National.

The event, which represents Rounds 6 and 7 of the 10-race Tour, features two full shows for the Pros with Pro Stock and Pro Open finals on both Saturday and Sunday. Qualifying is scheduled for Friday, and a full weekend of racing action is on tap for the Semi-Pro, Women, and Amateurs.

The weekend's events will be telecast on SPEED. Please check local listings for dates and times.

Martin (No. 837 Judnick Motorsports/Polaris) has been the model of consistency this season. After sweeping the Pro portion of the season opener in November, Martin has finished in the top-ten in every race since, culminating with a second-place finish last weekend in Valcourt.

Martin won't have it easy as veteran TJ Gulla (No. 44 Pirtek/Polaris) sits second in both Pro classes, 14 points back in Pro Open and numerically tied in Pro Stock. Gulla has two victories this season, including a Pro Open win last weekend at Valcourt.

Ever-present 11-time WPSA Champion Blair Morgan's season has looked up lately. With two podiums and one victory in the last four races, Morgan (No. 7c Blair Morgan Racing/Ski-Doo) will certainly be ready for competition here.

Ryan Simons (No. 67 Speedwerx/Arctic Cat) sits second in Pro Open points, despite missing one final this season.

Avalanche Racing rider "Monster" Mike Schultz has a Pro Open podium to his credit this season astride the No. 5 Parts Unlimited/Polaris. Schultz is currently third in Pro Open points, just three points out. Schultz's team will again host its popular Avalanche Racing Crew Member for a Day contest here, which will reward one lucky fan with the chance to work as an official crew member on Sunday.
