Pedrosa hard on Hayden

2-22-2008

by Luc Fradette

Spanish rider Dani Pedrosa, criticised American rider and Repsol Honda teammate Nicky Hayden saying he was unable to develop the motorcycle.

The Spaniard made those comments after he injured his hand in Sepang, leaving Hayden alone to complete most of the development on the new MotoGP machine.

"When he (Hayden) has had this responsibility before he didn't do much good, but at the moment I can't do anything other than try to heal quickly in order to make up for the lost time," Pedrosa went on to declare to Motosprint.

Hayden said that he didn't care much about what Pedrosa think. "I read his comments and I laughed. I think people should look most of all at what they do, at their problems, and not always looking at and passing judgement on others.

The American rider was not the only member of the team to be the subject of Pedrosa's critics. Following his fall in Sepang, Pedrosa was adamant in saying that his crash was caused by a problem with the motorcycle.

The project leader of the RC212V, Shinichi Kokubu, denied Pedrosa's assertions by declaring that the Spaniard pushed the bike too hard too early during the first practice.
