The FIM has announced the creation of a new trophy that will be awarded to this year's world champions in each different level of competition, in the 125cc, 250cc and MotoGP categories.

The aim is to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix.

The 125cc world champion will receive the Nello Pagani Trophy, the 250cc champion the Bruno Ruffo Trophy, and the MotoGP champion the Leslie Graham Trophy.

Each trophy is named after a champion of the inaugural, 1949 season.
