MotoGP - Second Sepang test today and tomorrow

2-24-2010

by Marc Cantin , moto123.com

Riders are returning to Sepang this week for the second official test there this season, before the start of racing in Qatar on April 11.

Valentino Rossi was the fastest at the first Sepang test on his Yamaha M1, and the reigning World Champion will again be working on “New aspects of the settings on his bike”. Your guess is as good as ours. Team-mate Jorge Lorenzo will not be testing however as he continues his recovery from a hand injury sustained in a MX training accident a few weeks ago.

Ducati riders Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden were happy with the easier-to-ride big-bang motor in the 2010 Desmosedici GP10, and the pair will continue to fine tune the settings to take full advantage of the softer engine configuration.

Honda’s Dani Pedrosa was happy with his RC212V after the first test, and both he and team-mate Andrea Dovizioso will continue to accumulate laps to better understand the new machine, and learn to work with the team’s new technical and management personnel.

Suzuki have their new GSV-R engine for Loris Capirossi and Álvaro Bautista, and the Yamaha Tech3 pairing of rookie Ben Spies and veteran - master development rider Colin Edwards will look to build on a fruitful opening test on their M1 machines earlier this year.

Test riders will be on track on Wednesday (Feb 24), with the race riders aboard their machines on Thursday (Feb 25). We will put the Thursday results on line when we get them.
