Blair Morgan took a convincing Pro Stock victory Sunday at the WPSA PowerSports Snowmobile Tour Nielsen Enterprises Grand Finale. After finishing sixth, TJ Gulla clinched the Pro Stock Drivers' Championship, his second in three years.

Morgan (No. 7c Blair Morgan Racing/Ski-Doo) was off like a shot at the start of the 12-lap final. From there, he ran untouched to net the win, his first in Pro Stock this season. Ryan Simons (No. 67 Speedwerx/Arctic Cat) finished second, ahead of Carl Schubitzke (No. 6 Speedwerx/Arctic Cat).

"It was awesome to get the holeshot because I didn't want to get caught behind anyone," said Morgan. "From there, it was sort of relaxing. I had a clear track ahead of me, the sun was out; it was just a great day."

Gulla came into this weekend's race with a tenuous 19-point lead on Simons. Simons cut into that deficit during qualifying, but Gulla was nine points ahead in the final tally. Simons was second in final points, ahead of Morgan.

"We were on the podium just about every weekend, and that's what it takes to win a championship," said Gulla, who also won the Pro Stock title in 2005. "You have to be there, up front every weekend."

Gulla joined Hentges Racing at the beginning of the season.

"The team was new, but familiar at the same time," said Gulla. "I had the same teammates and my mechanic of four years, Tim Bender, came with me. That was the key factor. Tim and I communicate really well and that's usually the X factor in racing."

Gulla said he was nervous going into the final.

"I went to bed early last night, trying to get a good night's sleep, but I woke up at 3 a.m., just wanting to get this over with," said Gulla. 'I was definitely biting my nails all weekend, just because anything can happen in racing. You can get balled up in the first corner and that's the luck of the draw. I played it safe and I brought it home."
