Lewis Hamilton is doing very well this season in Formula 3. source: f1racing.netHe is leading the
Euro championship and won last weekends Marlboro Masters in Zandvoort (Holland).
The McLaren protégé seems to be ready for F1. GP2 is in any case no option at
the moment. The McLaren Formula 1 team is supporting Hamilton from pretty much the start of
his racing career. "I was winning almost every race in karting, but then there
was no money anymore," he told F1Racing.net. "They helped me from that point, I
really thank my career to McLaren. It is a big help, not only financially." There is a good chance Hamilton will win the Euro F3 championship, so what's
next, GP2? "No. It is not that I only want to move to Formula 1 next year, but I
am not interested in that class. The way GP2 is looking at the moment, the way
the cars are performing... It is not attracting me. We will see, maybe they will
be better next year. And it is always an option. Maybe I have nowhere else to
go." The option of Ron Dennis putting him in an F1 car next year is not something
Hamilton wants to talk about. "I don't know anything about that. I won't say
that it might be an option, because they have not mentioned it."
