On the second day of testing at Phillip Island, rain was an uninvited guest that hindered the teams' progress. But still, MotoGP champion Casey Stoner managed to finish on top. It has to be noted that the best times were set late in the day when finally the sun began to dry the track.
Rookies were still on top on that second day as Alex de Angelis was an impressive second fastest in the Gresini Honda. Andrea Dovizioso for the JiR Team Scot completed also a strong day, posting the third quickest time.
De Angeli's teammate, Shinya Nakano and Repsol Honda Nicky Hayden completed the top five at the Australian circuit.
Kawasaki's John Hopkins had a fall in which he injured his groin muscle. It is yet uncertain if he will be able to take part in the final day of the test tomorrow.
