JiR Scot Team (Honda) newcomer and rookie rider Andrea Dovizioso made a good impression on his team boss Gianluca Montiron who says he is delighted by how quickly the rookie has got to grips with MotoGP.
The 21-year-old Italian rider, who was last year's runner-up to champion Jorge Lorenzo in the 250cc category, made an instant impact in his first tests at the end of the year where he was often the quickest of the rookies.
Montiron admitted that he had been taken aback by Dovizioso's initial performances and he is also confident that his squad will enjoy equipment parity with their fellow customer Honda teams.
MotoGP testing resumes at Sepang from 22-24 January.
