Repsol Honda driver Dani Pedrosa, who went back to Spain after injuring himself during testing in Malaysia Monday, had to have an operation on his right hand in order to fix a failure in a bone.
The surgeon in charge stated that the operation was a complete success, but it was too soon to tell how much time would be needed for a full recovery but the doctor stated that with this type of injury it would take a minimum of 6 weeks before Pedrosa could return to action.
Should Pedrosa be out for that long, then he would be ruled out of the next tests in Phillip Island, Sepang and Jerez - meaning he would only be ready for the season-opening race in Qatar.
