Just in time for Winter X Games 11-scheduled for January 25-28 at Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen/Snowmass, Colorado-Avalanche Racing is pleased to announce that Rockstar Energy Drink has extended its sponsorship of the Avalanche team.

Avalanche Racing is a prominent contender in snocross racing events. David Glefke, an Avalanche Race Team driver made the initial connection with Rockstar at the 2006 Winter X Games, and the addition of Rockstar to Avalanche's list of best-in-class sponsors has proved to be a mutually beneficial relationship.

Since its introduction to the market in 2001, Rockstar has quickly become a leader among energy drinks in the U.S. and Canada, thanks, in large part, to a variety of key product placements and sponsorships-not the least of which has been its partnership with Avalanche Racing.

"Rockstar's slogan-'Party Like a Rock Star'-exudes excitement and unbridled energy" said Bonnie Glefke, one of the owners of the Avalanche Race Team "and that's what snocross racing and Avalanche are all about. It's also why Rockstar's sponsorship of the Avalanche Race Team is such a good fit."

"Avalanche Racing," said Steve Mateus, Head of Athlete Management of Rockstar Energy Drink, "has really performed well for use, meeting and exceeding our expectations. Avalanche Racing is precisely the kind of high-energy team in a high-energy sport that we like having our name and our products associated with "

Avalanche Racing Team is made up of drivers Mike Schultz, Andrew Johnstad, David Glefke, and James Johnstad, crew chief Jayme Cheney; mechanics Mike Burgad, Chad Kyllo, and Cody Braaten; team engineer Matt Knudson; and crew support Chris Glefke.

Johnstad and Schultz will be taking on the best of the best in snocross racing at the Winter X Games later this month. The event will be telecast live on ESPN and ABC
(for exact times and channels, you can visit www.EXPN.com).

The Avalanche duo are regulars on the WPSA PowerSports Snowmobile Tour. Schultz (No. 5 Avalanche Race Team/Polaris) has placed well in the PowerSports Tour's Pro-Stock ranks; having started the season with a second-place finish at Duluth, he currently ranks third in points-and just 11 points out of the lead.

Consistency also has been key for Johnstad (No. 2225 Avalanche Race Team/Polaris), Avalanche's semi-pro rider, who ranks fourth in Pro Open points and sixth in the Pro-Stock standings, and has two overall podiums in three events this season.
