The new Bearcat lineup represents one of the best surprises of the past few years. Since 2009, the machine built on the excellent Twin Spar chassis has emerged as Arctic Cat's most capable utility snowmobile ever.

For 2011, the Bearcat comes back stronger and more refined with several upgrades and a promising new high-end model, the Z1 XT Limited.

Two engine choices
The entry-level Bearcat 570 relies on the good old fan-cooled, 565-cc, 2-stroke engine. Efficient, simple and particularly cheap to build, it allows more riders to enjoy the many attributes of the new Twin Spar-based Bearcat. The 570 model actually costs less than $9,000, which is a real bargain considering its versatility and two-up riding capability.

Heavy-duty snowmobile enthusiasts love the Suzuki-built, 4-stroke Z1 engine for its many benefits. The parallel twin-cylinder helps the Bearcat Z1 XT and the new Bearcat Z1 XT Limited deliver superior fuel economy, extra low- and mid-range torque and, more importantly, no burnt oil smells typically associated with the 2-stroke engine. The Bearcat's final reduction ratio, shorter than on touring and sport models, is more suited to meet the torque needs of a hard-working utility sled, especially at low speeds. What's more, this shorter final gear ratio facilitates take-offs and throttle modulation in deep snow, reducing your chances of sinking.

A difference-making chassis
The decision by Arctic Cat to create a utility chassis from the acclaimed Twin Spar architecture allows heavy-duty snowmobile enthusiasts to take advantage of its numerous attributes. The elements so appreciated on the various F (sport) and T (touring) models can be found on the Bearcat Z1 XT and Z1 XT Limited, including a higher, more forward riding position that taxes no body parts, excellent mass centralization as well as a precise steering.
