2008 Yamaha FX Nytro Preview

12-22-2007

by moto123.com

The new Nytro looks a lot more like the Phazer and its FX chassis. The forward-leaning, active riding position is about the same, although the Nytro's new chassis boasts enough upgrades to be called "FX II". As for the braking system, the 2008 Nytro relies on the new setup introduced on specific models since 2006. The 200-mm front disc is backed by cooling fins and a 4-piston calliper. Similar to the Phazer, the Nytro also gets a pressure-molded platform that makes the snowmobile considerably stiffer.

Adapted suspensions

With an ultra-soft, well-dampened suspension, the RTX model is designed for the most demanding snowcross racers. This snowmobile features the famous Fox Float aluminum air shocks up front and a Dual Shock Pro suspension with 368 mm of travel in the back. The base FX Nytro uses a different suspension than the RTX, namely 40-mm GYTR HPG dual-clicker front shocks and a Dual Shock CK rear suspension.

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Yamaha created an exclusive machine that's ultra-competitive in every respect. So, in addition to the base, RTX and RTX ER models, the Nytro is also available in the colors of the brand's original high-performance snowmobiles.
