In 2008, Japan and Canada celebrate 80 years of diplomatic relations, which is why Yamaha Corporation is sponsoring the Yamaha Symphonic Orchestra in major music festivals across Canada.

A grand event
The Yamaha Symphonic Orchestra performed at MusicFest Canada, in Ottawa, and at the Festival des harmonies et orchestres symphoniques du Québec, in Sherbrooke. In the nation's capital, the 36th edition of the Yamaha-sponsored festival gave 8,000 young Canadians studying music the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of a crowd of music lovers from all over the world. Among them were Senator Tommy Banks, Tsuneo Nishida, Ambassador of Japan to Canada, Hirofumi Osawa, from Yamaha Corporation of America, Tom Osugi, President of Yamaha Motor Canada, and Yosuki Mikami, from Yamaha Canada Music Ltd.

Nothing but specialists
The Yamaha Symphonic Orchestra has enjoyed remarkable success, as evidenced by these two sold-out events. This world-class orchestra includes 60 members, all working in various Yamaha facilities in Japan where world-renowned music instruments are manufactured. Much like Yamaha Motor, Yamaha Music always relies on highly-skilled people who are passionate about their jobs. You can feel it with any Yamaha product, from motorcycles to pianos.
