Top 10 Most Versatile Bikes in 2014

5-12-2014

by Pascal Bastien , moto123.com

Shopping for a new motorcycle is no easy task, particularly if you expect a lot from it. First, you must identify and rank your various needs because no single bike can meet all of them at once.

I agree with some of my colleagues who say that a motorcyclist has to own at least five different bikes in order to be truly and completely satisfied: a touring motorcycle (like a Gold Wing or R1200RT), a cruiser, a naked sport bike (such as the Ducati Monster 1200 S), an enduro bike, and a superbike for track days.

Of course, due to a lack of money and/or storage space, most riders today can't afford to buy more than one bike, which means they'll use it for daily commutes, weekend getaways, and everything in between. Performance, agility, rider-friendliness, comfort, and safety must all be part of the package. But is that even possible?

Here are the top 10 most versatile bikes on the Canadian market in 2014, one of which is likely to offer everything you're looking for.

10 – 2014 Honda NC750XA
Now more powerful and more versatile, the new Honda NC750XA is a genuinely functional, competent, and relaxing ride. It's an innovative motorcycle with more than one trick up its sleeves, starting with a fake tank that serves as a storage compartment (the real tank lies under the seat).
