There are 1,375 affected models in Canada, another 5,200 in the U.S., and the rest in other countries.

An investigation was launched in 2014 after the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) received two reports of 2013 Can-Am Spyders that caught fire including one in Virginia and another in California. A total of 103 owner complaints were also filed.

BRP is working closely with the NHTSA on excessive vapour emissions and inadequate heat management. Affected owners will be notified by mail.
