An explosion occurred at BRP's Research and Development Centre in Valcourt, Quebec, in the night between Thursday and Friday.

A BRP employee and a security guard were seriously injured and later rushed to Quebec City's Enfant-Jesus hospital. They are currently still maintained in a state of artificial coma to treat their injuries.

BRP will comment on the situation during a press conference today. Investigators will analyze the scene to determine the exact cause of the explosion.

The Valcourt facility builds Can-Am off-road vehicles, Ski-Doo snowmobiles and Sea-Doo watercraft.
