Poor road conditions from Tokyo to Mito as well as damage to the Motegi track and bleachers resulting from the earthquake proved to be determining factors in the decision.

Meanwhile, the 38th edition of the Tokyo Motorcycle Show, scheduled to open on March 25, has been cancelled due to rolling blackouts and transport chaos across the city, making it impossible to continue show preparations. Ticket holders will be offered a full refund upon receipt of their original ticket.
