All-Canadian Team Tackles Daytona

2-22-2009

by Marc Cantin , moto123.com

Brett McCormick is naturally pumped at the whole happening. "Being at such a famous track aboard a GSX-R1000 Superbike will certainly be special. And if you add the fact that winners such as Miguel, Pascal and the rest of the team will be coaching me every step of the way, I just know that this will be a very special experience for me. I have been training hard in the gym since last September, as well as riding a lot on the ice on a track in my back yard, so I will be physically and mentally ready. The first practice will allow me to get my bearings back on pavement, and we will go for it after that. I know the track layout as I rode there on a smaller bike in an endurance race, but being thrown to the wolves in the American Superbike race will be special. A top ten finish would be unbelievable, and that is our goal for that race."

Both riders will be on track March 4, with the Daytona 200 start scheduled for March 6 at 8pm. The American Superbike race will start at 3.30pm on March 5. Both events are scheduled to be shown live on SpeedTV.
