2015 MV Agusta Brutale Dragster RR 800 ABS Preview

2-17-2015

by Pascal Bastien , moto123.com

So much more than a styling update, the new 2015 MV Agusta Brutale Dragster RR 800 ABS is the definition of sensory overload.

True to its name, it boasts a 798cc inline triple-cylinder engine that cranks out a thundering 140 hp at 13,100 rpm (versus 125 hp in the regular model) and 63 lb-ft of torque at 10,100 rpm -- impressive numbers, for sure, even more so when you factor in its dry weight of 168kg.

Wickedly sexy, the Brutale Dragster RR 800 ABS is dressed in superb two-tone attire (either red/white or red/black). Exterior highlights include a 43mm inverted Marzocchi fork with DLC antifriction coating and red or gold anodizing, white rims with black spokes or black aluminum rims, and a 200mm Pirelli Diablo Rosso II rear tire. What else did you expect from this RR model built in Varese, Italy?

State-of-the-art electronics
The frame of the 2015 MV Agusta Brutale Dragster RR 800 ABS is identical to the base model's -- same thing for the rear shock. However, braking is upgraded to a Brembo package with advanced Bosch ABS. Of course there's the second-generation MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System), which includes 8-level traction control, wheelie control, Rear Wheel Lift-Up Migration, four engine maps (Sport, Normal, Rain, Custom), and the new Quickshifter EAS 2.0 system allowing ultra-fast, clutchless shifts. The 6-speed transmission teams up with a new slipper clutch.

In short, the new 2015 MV Agusta Brutale Dragster RR 800 ABS is primarily designed to win drag races and put on a real show. It's the ultimate warrior in the exotic manufacturer's delinquent family of naked bikes.
